We feel there is an urgent need to move towards just and sustainable food systems. Two essential links on that journey are:
1) awareness and understanding of food systems
2) a sense of relationship and respect for the earth
We see enormous potential in creating opportunities for children to engage with these questions. We are excited to create spaces where children can experience and explore food- and farming-related fun!
If you are a school, a parent, or an educator, and would like to create a learning opportunity, we’d love to chat! Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Summer Short Courses
We offer short courses that focus on permaculture design and organic farming methods. Small groups gather and do intensive hands-on workshops. For further information or to sign up for upcoming workshops contact Av Singh email@example.com
Visitors and Self-Guided Tours
The Just Food Farm is an acre of beautiful farmland and interpretive gardens. Visitors are welcome to wander, read, reflect, and engage with the space. See what’s growing in our Kitchen Garden, explore the Women or Children’s Garden as a family, chat with Sarah or Joey (or mini-gardener Mia) at work in the Farmer-in-Residence Garden, see what experiments are happening in the Farmer-led Research Garden, or simply enjoy a picnic lunch with a grand view of Blomidon!
We are interested in connecting with organizations working towards just and sustainable food systems in the Annapolis Valley and beyond. If you are an organization working with food and farming related issues and would like to connect, please give us a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org
